Configure the widget & alert emails

Everything lives in Settings inside the app. Changes to the widget go live on your storefront as soon as you save.

Widget settings

Open the app in your Shopify admin and go to Settings → Widget. You can change:

  • Title — default: “Notify me when it's back”.
  • Button label — default: “Notify me”.
  • Email placeholder — default: “you@email.com”.
  • Confirmation message — shown after a successful signup. Default: “Done — we'll email you the moment it's back.”
  • Colors — button background, button text, and accent color, so the form looks native to your theme.

The widget only ever appears when the selected variant is out of stock. There is nothing to configure per product: add the block once, and it covers your whole catalog.

Positioning and layout (where the block sits on the page) are controlled in the theme editor, not in the app — see the install guide.

Double opt-in Growth+

With double opt-in enabled (Settings → Widget → Double opt-in), a signup triggers a short confirmation email; the subscriber must click the confirmation link before they are eligible for alerts.

  • When to enable it: if you sell in the EU/EEA and want an explicit, provable consent trail, or if you want a stricter, bot-proof list.
  • Trade-off: some subscribers never confirm, so you will alert fewer people. Unconfirmed signups are automatically deleted after 30 days.
  • Confirmed / pending status is visible next to each signup on the dashboard.

Alert email settings

Go to Settings → Alert email. The email is a responsive template that shows your store name (or logo), the product, and a single button linking back to the product page. A live preview next to the fields shows exactly what your customers will receive.

  • Subject — default: “Back in stock: {product}”.
  • Heading — default: “It’s back in stock!”.
  • Message — default: “{product} is available again — and you asked us to tell you first.”
  • Button label — default: “Shop now”.
  • Placeholders — use {product} (product name, with the variant when relevant) and {store} in any of these fields. Leave a field empty to keep its default.
  • From name Growth+ — the store name shown in the email (defaults to your shop name). The sending address itself stays on our authenticated domain so your alerts pass DKIM/SPF checks — see deliverability notes.
  • Reply-to Growth+ — where customer replies land.
  • Logo Growth+ — an https image URL (upload it in Content › Files first); it replaces the store name at the top of the email. The button uses your widget accent color on every plan.

Send yourself a test: use Send test email under the preview — it sends the version you're looking at (even unsaved edits) to the address of your choice, using your best-selling product as the example. Tests don't count toward your monthly alerts (capped at 20 test emails a month). For a full end-to-end test (signup → restock → alert), see the install guide.

What you cannot break

  • Alerts are sent once per subscriber per restock — a customer never gets duplicate emails for the same signup.
  • The unsubscribe/removal path in the email always works, whatever texts you set.
  • Anti-spam protections (rate limiting, honeypot, email validation) are always on; there is nothing to configure.
