Where Back in Stock is stronger
- Track record and trust. It has been in the category for years with thousands of reviews. Restock Rocket is new and hasn't earned that history yet — that's a real factor, and we won't pretend otherwise.
- SMS alerts. If text-message alerts are important to your customers, Back in Stock offers them; Restock Rocket is deliberately email-only in V1.
- Marketing-stack integrations. Native connections to Klaviyo, Mailchimp and others let you fold restock subscribers into broader flows. If your marketing lives in Klaviyo, that's a genuine advantage.
- Enterprise volume. Its higher tiers are built for very large notification volumes with matching support expectations.
Where Restock Rocket is stronger
- Speed you can verify. The alert pipeline is webhook-driven with an immediate send queue — targeting under 60 seconds from restock — and the app measures every alert's latency and displays p50/p95 and % under 60 s on your dashboard. To our knowledge, no other app in the category publishes its own live latency numbers. The mechanism is documented in how alerts work.
- Price. Free plan, $19/month for 500 alerts, and unlimited alerts at $49/month — versus tiers reaching roughly $90/month. For most small and mid-size stores the same job costs less.
- The Demand Report. Signups aren't just an alert list — they're demand data. The report ranks your sold-out products by waiting customers so you restock what people actually want, with CSV export for supplier discussions.
- Honest revenue attribution. A recovered sale is counted only when an order containing the product follows an alert click within 72 hours — a strict, documented rule, not a soft "influenced revenue" number.
Our honest verdict: if you need SMS alerts or your marketing runs on Klaviyo/Mailchimp flows, choose Back in Stock: Restock Alerts — it's the more connected product and its track record is real. If what you want is the fastest possible email alert, proof of that speed on your own dashboard, restock-planning data, and a lower bill, choose Restock Rocket. Both have free ways to start, so testing costs you nothing.
